Haztech has openings Emergency Medical Responders licensed in Canada and living in the NWT to join our team for the 2022 Wildfire season.
This role will be performed on an on-call basis to provide medical support during the NWT Wildfire Season. This role includes short-notice travel and living away from home for stretches of time, therefore, the EMRs are required to have availability for a minimum of 5 days in a row. This role is ideal for medics who work on a rotational basis and have stretches of time off, or medics with flexibility in their schedule.
Please note that travel is only provided for medics who live in the NWT, ideally in the Yellowknife area. We can not provide travel for out-of-province/territory medics.
As a member of Haztech’s Basic Life Support (BLS) team, the Emergency Medical Responders provide onsite emergency medical services within the wildfire environment, tending to both urgent, and non-urgent medical needs. Responsibilities include the use of skills and expertise to provide emergency response, medical assessment, primary health care, chronic disease management, injury prevention, health promotion, and coordination of emergency medical evacuations as needed. You will exercise independence, judgment, and initiative by logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems that arise on site.
