Haztech Safety Training is proud to now offer Mental Health First Aid, both in-person and online. This one-day course covers what to do when someone is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. The course curriculum and instructor, Shelagh Robinson, are both certified by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
At Haztech, we understand the importance of mental health both internally as an organization, and for our clients when providing On-Site Medical Services, Security, Patient Transfer Services, or any other service involving patients or ensuring a safe environment.
What is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved.
MHFA benefits the community, the workplace, and the individual. It helps to increase awareness, increase confidence, and decrease the stigma surrounding mental health. Overall, MHFA contributes to a healthy and safe community, aligning with Haztech’s mission –
Our focus is the health & safety of our people, clients, and the communities in which we live, work & play.
