Description

The course begins at 8:30 am unless otherwise noted. Participants should arrive 5-10 minutes early.

This class is a 4-6 hour course for students who are in-facility care providers, including nursing staff, care aides, medical and dental professionals, and pre-hospital care providers, which may include professionals in a fire service, rescue team or lifeguards.

Designed for health care professionals who provide care in both pre-hospital and in-facility settings.

This course helps to build confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills in a team environment for professionals with a duty to respond. This course focuses on the important steps required to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

If required Oxygen Therapy & Airway Management can also be added as additional certifications to this course.

Course Objectives

  • Students will be trained as professionals in safe emergency medical care and transport 
  • Students will have the ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills
  • Attend and participate in 100% of the course

4-6 hours

Certificate

All participants who successfully complete this program and achieve a 75% or higher on their exam will receive a Red Cross Certificate of Completion valid for one year. BLS must be re-certified every year.
