POWERED MOBILE EQUIPMENT COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A wide range of equipment falls under the definition of powered mobile equipment. Some examples of PME are:
- Forklifts and Telehandlers
- Mobile Elevated Work Platforms
- Skid Steers and Loaders
- Backhoes and Excavators
- Tractors and Graders
Our instructors have extensive experience with all types of powered mobile equipment and are able to provide the equipment-specific training required. Related training is also available, such as Load Securement, Spotting, Traffic Control, Fall Protection, etc.

- PME controls
- Safe operating techniques
- Refueling and maintenance
- Maintenance/repair records where applicable
The courses requirement is between 8 and 16 hours which includes a mandatory written theory test (English only).
An employer or contractor shall conduct an examination of practical skills for each operator required or permitted to operate a specific type of powered mobile equipment.
If an operator has previous experience in operating a specific type of powered mobile equipment and can demonstrate the operator’s ability to the satisfaction of the person directing the training program, that person may accept the operator’s previous training and experience as meeting all or any part of the requirements of the training program.
Your Safety ticket will be issued to your employer and is valid for 3 years.
