Firefighter/ERT, Casual & Full-time – SK

Haztech has a great opportunity for full-time and casual Firefighters/ERTs to join our team for a long-term project in Saskatchewan.

This is a camp-based role, and it requires the full-time ERTs to work one week on and one week off rotations. All travel, meals, and accommodations are covered by Haztech.

All applicants must reside in Saskatchewan to be considered for the role(s).

Responsibilities

As a member of Haztech’s ERT team, you will respond to emergency situations to protect people, the environment, and property from all types of accidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities include the use of skills and expertise in fire, rope rescue, confined space rescue, and medical emergencies. You will inspect and monitor confined spaces, work at heights as required and ensure rescue, fire, and EMS equipment is inspected and maintained. As a member of the ERT team, you will also create and review site rescue and fire plans and run drills and training.

All safety procedures must be followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment. The goal of this role is to optimize emergency response plans and procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to keep project personnel and the local community safe.

The chosen individual will perform this diverse range of activities with a focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
    • NFPA 1001 Level I and II, *Mandatory
    • NFPA 472, *Mandatory
    • NFPA 1006 (or equivalent), *Mandatory
    • First Responder Level “B”, EMR or PCP designation, *Mandatory
    • 1+ year(s) ERT experience
    • Valid Drivers License
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-motivated
    • Criminal record clearance, *Mandatory
    • Pre-employment drug and alcohol test clearance, *Mandatory

Firefighter with ERT – Ontario

Haztech has a great opportunity for casual Firefighters with ERT certificates to join our team at a mine in a remote setting in Ontario. All travel, meals, and accommodations are covered by Haztech.

Casual ERT

  • The casual ERTs will be called to cover a minimum of 5 days plus 2 days travel
  • You must have the flexibility to be away for 7-14 days to remain on our causal list
  • You are not required to commit every time you are called, as some calls will be short notice

Security Guards – Full-Time, Industrial

Haztech has an immediate opening for qualified SECURITY GUARDS to join our team on a full-time and casual basis for a long-term project 2.5 hours north of Saskatoon.

The full-time rotations are 7 days on and 7 days off and the casual shifts are on an as-needed basis.

Haztech provides, travel, accommodations, and meal allowance.

Responsibilities

Regulate and control access points, vehicle patrol of the property, respond to any complaints or issues, de-escalate situations, and use judgement, and deal with the site employees in a friendly and professional manner. Your high level of professionalism and customer service abilities will make you an exceptional addition to the Haztech team.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain a positive relationship with Haztech’s management team and the workers on site.
  • Take appropriate preventative and protective actions in response to safety and security incidents.
  • Secure the premises by patrolling and monitoring the property.
  • Respond to any complaints or issues and decide what actions to take based on the situation, facts known, and position limitations.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
  • Valid Saskatchewan 40-hour Security Guard certificate
  • Valid class 5 license
  • Ability to obtain criminal record clearance
  • Reliable transportation
  • First Aid/CPR certificate preferred
  • Ability to be fully alert and aware of surroundings
  • Commitment to consistent accuracy and high attention to detail.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
