Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support functions in collaboration with our Office Manager, Operations and Human Resources team. 

This position requires the individual to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing and prioritizing duties and ensuring accuracy while completed within expected timelines.

 

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Support Operations, Finance, and HR
  • Monitor office supplies and inventory including replenish as required 
  • Register students into public training courses by telephone, email and in-person
  • Training certificate administration for classroom and on-site training courses
  • Assist with weekly and monthly LEM reporting
  • Coordination and management of travel and accommodations for traveling team members 
  • Screening of job applications
  • Phone interview / screen to ensure candidates meet minimum requirements
  • Schedule and facilitate zoom interviews
  • Book pre-employment testing such as Drug & Alcohol Screening and Mask Fit Testing
  • Ensure new on-boarding team members complete site specific training, pre-screening and orientation
  • Schedule Haztech operating systems orientation with all new staff
  • Assist with managing valid licensure of medical and security personnel
  • Manage personnel training records
  • Further administrative support duties as required

 Qualifications:

  • Competency with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of generally accepted and internal control principles
  • Experience with Sage 300 and Microsoft Office is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Medical Lab Technologist – Ontario

The Medical Lab Technologist will work with our healthcare services team to provide exceptional service to our clients. Services provided include (but are not limited to): Travel and living away from home for periods of time. Camp accommodations are provided during your shift rotation including travel to and from site by Haztech. Manage testing, receive, label, and analyze samples. You will be required to handle sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct test report findings. The duties also include design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings. You must be organized and store all chemical substances, fluids, and samples according to safety protocols, record all data and results in specified forms with accuracy.

All safety procedures must be followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment. The goal with this role is to lead a team of medical laboratory technicians, optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to keep project personnel and the local community safe.

The chosen individual will perform this diverse range of activities with a focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • CMLTO or CSMLS certified Medical Lab Technologist
  • Proven experience as Lab Technologist or relevant position
  • Experience in operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (infectious bacteria, biohazards, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of QHSE Systems, preventative measures, and laboratory best practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Valid driver’s license and criminal record clearance
  • Professionally represent Haztech and provide exceptional service to all clients

Emergency Rescue Team – Ontario

As a member of Haztech’s ERT team you will respond to emergency situations to protect people, the environment, and property from all types of accidents and emergency situations. Responsibilities include the use of skills and expertise in fire, rope rescue, confined space rescue and medical emergencies. You will inspect and monitor confined spaces/work at heights as required and ensure rescue, fire and EMS equipment is inspected and maintained. As a member of the ERT team you will also create and review site rescue and fire plans and run drills and training.

The goal with this role is to optimize emergency response plans and procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to keep project personnel and the local community safe.

 NFPA 472

 NFPA 1006 (or equivalent)
